How far can I see with this camera?
This is by far the most asked question. You can see as far as water clarity and light levels will allow for. In general the camera will see slightly farther than a person with a dive mask.
How wide is the view of the camera?
The camera horizontal viewing angle ratio is approximately 1 to 1.2. At a distance of 5 feet you will see 6 feet across. At a distance of 15 feet you will see 18 feet across.
How do you control the camera?
The camera has a few different ways it can be deployed? Please see the camera deployment page for a description of each.
Does the camera work good in low light conditions?
Yes, our cameras all work in very low light conditions. Each also is equipped with auxiliary lights so you can work in complete darkness. In clear water the auxiliary lights will illuminate up to 15 feet from the camera.
How deep can the camera go?
The standard depth rating is 800ft. You can get an upgrade that will make the camera waterproof to 2000ft. We sell cable lengths up to 1000ft.
Does the camera work above water?
Yes. Many of our underwater cameras are used as back deck cameras on commercial fishing boats. These vessel depend on the ruggedness of our cameras to ensure the safety of their crew.
What can I watch the video on?
Just about any video monitor or recorder. Or, any device that accepts composite video input. These include but are not limited to: Camcorders (with AV in), DVR, PVR, USB VIdeo Capture Device (for laptop viewing/recording, Direct to DVD recorders, Newer Navigation Centers with video input, and Any LCD monitor.
